UGI Endoscopy

UGI Endoscopy (Upper Gastrointestinal Endoscopy) is a safe and minimally invasive procedure used to examine the lining of the esophagus, stomach, and the first part of the small intestine (duodenum). A thin, flexible tube with a high-definition camera is gently passed through the mouth to identify conditions such as acid reflux, gastritis, ulcers, bleeding, infections, Barrett's esophagus, and early-stage cancers. The procedure usually takes 10–20 minutes and is performed under mild sedation for maximum comfort. It also allows doctors to take biopsies or perform therapeutic procedures during the same session, ensuring early diagnosis and effective treatment.
